Wood Family: American Maple

Made in the USA: I’m handcrafted in small batches right here in the USA from sustainably sourced American Maple. My parents take special care to hand select only the highest quality hardwood when making me so that I can perform well for you and look good while doing it.

Best At: The daily grind. There’s a reason my parents chose the industry standard amongst professional chefs when designing me. Made of sturdy American Maple, I’m ready to deliver day in and day out, with a few extra bells and whistles that separate me from your grandma’s classic. One side of me comes equipped with a built-in 3.5 oz capacity juice groove to catch any liquids from oozing onto your countertops during prep or carving, making cleanup quick and easy. The other side comes with a built-in signature Cracker Well (a Sonder LA original circa 2017), which can be used as a catch for diced items during meal prep, but is also perfectly sized to hold crackers, sliced baguettes, or any accompaniments you don’t want rolling off your board like nuts, olives, or berries.

Special Skills: I really excel as a snack or charcuterie board thanks to my signature Cracker Well. Designed to accommodate 30+ variations of crackers, chips, & baguettes, there’s no limit to how you can serve me up.  Take a look at how to maximize my Cracker Well here.

Likes: Julia Childs, the Fourth of July, pancake breakfasts, meals shared with you and your family, and regular spa treatments every 3 weeks (mineral oil or beeswax only, please!).

Dislikes: Dishwashers, baths, or anything involving submersion in water or steam, and serrated knives, which can cause me to splinter. Also, the stove and my family are in a lifelong feud, so please don’t store me directly next to or on top of him; I just can’t stand the heat.

Safe & Non-Toxic: Free of BPA, phthalates, and formaldehyde.

Behind the Name: By definition, Winsome means attractive or appealing in appearance or character. It was also the name of a restaurant in Los Angeles that we really liked (sadly, it's now closed).

Care: I’m ideally suited for an experienced owner; however, I love the opportunity to show new owners how great I can be when well cared for. I am more thirsty than my other edge grain brothers and sisters and require regular spa treatments to keep me in tip top shape. For detailed care instructions click here.
