This isn’t your grandma’s bread box (though she probably makes the BEST bread). Our Union Bread Box is a modern, reimagined take on a classic kitchen staple. Developed over a two-year period and countless loaves (tough job, we know!), our dedicated team has poured over every single detail to create the bread box of our dreams. We hope it’s yours, too.

The Union Bread Box’s sturdy, durable body is made from an eco-friendly blend of bamboo fiber and recycled plastic. Its spacious interior, ribbed bottom, and non-airtight lid provide ventilation for freshly baked bread. Its wooden lid also doubles as a breadboard; simply flip it over, and let its grooves catch your crumbs.

Storing Your Bread:

• Only store dry foods in the Union Bread Box.
• Freshly baked bread can be stored without paper or plastic, bread-side down, or with two halves pressed together to prevent drying out.
• Market-bought bread should be stored in the box in the wrapping it came in.

Behind the Name: They call it “breaking bread” for a reason. After all, who can’t find common ground over a fresh loaf? With bread’s notorious reputation for uniting people, we named our premiere bread box after Los Angeles’ Union Station. Considered one of the “last of the great train stations,” Union Station connects L.A. to the rest of the U.S., and we hope it inspires you to connect with friends and family, too.

Care: HAND WASH ONLY. Before first use, wipe down the lid with a damp towel, and wash the bread box with warm, soapy water. We don’t recommend washing your lid, but rather wiping it with a damp cloth as needed. If you choose to wash your lid regularly, please oil it monthly as directed here. Never soak the lid in water, or wash the lid in the dishwasher.
